Serum interleukin-2 receptor and interferon-alpha levels in a patient with allergic granulomatous angiitis (Churg-Strauss).
A patient with allergic granulomatous angiitis accompanied by increases in serum interleukin-2 receptor (IL-2R) and interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha) levels is reported. Laboratory findings revealed leukocytosis with eosinophilia and increased serum IgE and IgG. The serum IL-2R and IFN-alpha were increased. The serum immune complex, interferon-beta, -gamma and complements remained at normal levels. ...

A 61-year-old woman began to suffer bronchial asthma in 1985. She then developed low back pain and numbness along the lower extremities, eventually leading to bilateral drop foot in 1990. At that time, she was diagnosed as having lumbar disc hernia, and extirpation of the discs at the L3-4 and L4-5 was performed. However, her clinical condition showed little improvement. Six months later, she w...
متن کاملSerum Interleukin-23 Levels in Patients with Ulcerative Colitis
Background: Patients with ulcerative colitis are at increased risk of inflammation. Interleukin 23 (IL-23) is a newly identified cytokine with increased expression in inflamed biopsies of colon mucosa in patients with Crohn's disease; however, there is inconsistent evidence on its role in ulcerative colitis. Objective: We aimed to compare serum IL-23 level in patients with ulcerative colitis an...

We report a rare case of Churg-Strauss syndrome in a 37-year-old man, presented as ileus intestinal and associated with Tlymphoblastic lymphoma, that was located in the retroperitoneal space and infiltrated the suprarenal gland. The T lymphoblasts, with the immunohistochemical method, disclosed positivity for CD3 and CD8, while they were negative for Pan B and CD20.
